Writing that Story...need Writing Skills?

3 Writing Ingredients

No matter where you are in your writing, these three ingredients if applied liberally will change your work.

Word Power

There is no escaping dictionary use for a wordsmith. Words are key. If you are struggling with the right word, it means your vocabulary is missing words for you to use.

A daily routine of mine is to look one word up per day. There is a technique to gaining word power with several dictionaries--young readers and a college level. Using the internet is great for sounding out the word but not for meaning as ALL the definitions are not there!

You can use the word 'define' and the word you are looking at to get a meaning but as you are going to write all kinds of different types of writing and a word has more than just a few meanings you might try the approach of making sentences with ALL the definitions. Interested in how to do this, consult with me for a half-hour and find out at wtarasoff7@gmail.com.

Sentence Power

There are about 15 sentence styles that if mastered give you the ability to write just about anything. What is left after that is imagination. And indeed you have one! Yes, you!

These sentence types can be learned in a few days and make the difference in blogs, essays, reports, emails, marketing, and basic communications skills with others.

For this, I have designed for you the Writer's Pen Sentence Course. In there is each sentence defined in detail with a host of other relevant information suitable for high school, college, university students as well as those that wish to write a book. Contact me if you are interested at my email address.

Form

Different types of writing have a specific form. As an example, you can use the form that goes with writing the novel which is different again from the form of writing an essay.

Sometimes the way you tackle a form can shorten the length of writing time and leave room for personal creativity with the form.

The form for each can be learned and taught. Here is a short blog post on the overarching form of the essay. https://wendytarasoff.blogspot.com/2021/08/6-great-essay-tips-from-professional.html

Some think it is magic as I don't know what I have written until I have written it. The truth is that these skills well-learned could help you produce income and communications are the background of finance.
