4 Steps to Your Million Dollar Book

One needs a game plan or a strategy that is the overarching principle of guidance. Life is a series of steps: one decides what steps to take and that is what creates freedom for you and others. Your first book is a miracle of a series of steps that get you there. So, what principles could we use to keep on track?

Your Space is Yours!

Claim it! Your chair, your desk, your space to work. Put it in good working order. This extends further though. What is the main idea for your book? Search the titles on Amazon for less than three (3) words to sum it up. Notice that even the movies do this. Claim your chapter titles! What is it that you want to say? It extends further to what you want. What goals did you set. Forty-nine percent reach goals they have written down. What do you want to do Will Riker? Answer that question and begin.

Consistency

  1. Decide on a time to write. Setup 2 hours per day and schedule it into your calendar. Writing consists of research and thinking and writing. Breathe. You can do it!
  2. Don't go too far down the research rabbit hole. Gain some and write. You don't know what you have written until you have written it.
  3. Whether we write in that time or not, set up the time and stick to it. Let people know you are unavailable at that time. Clear your calendar.
  4. Start with a bad sentence then write another and another. Remember there is the writer and the critic.
  5. Don't let the critic come into the writing process. Write first, then edit later.
  6. Whatever you do be consistent! If you are having difficulty writing sentences and this is your weak point, you can bootstrap your way up with The Writer's Pen Sentence Course.

What is the Result?

What is it that you wish to achieve? Your book has to stand out from the rest. What problem does it solve? How will people relate to it? What is the story about? Try to break that down into about 300 words and then down to a paragraph and then into a sentence. Yes, this takes some thinking. Write it out.

These result-type questions may be solved before you write the book or during the process of it when you outline. Some people can do that but coming up with something catchy does help along with the book title. You don't have to have the full journey done to give some thought to this. Get clear on what you want to say and then say it.

Connect with Others

In the process of writing, share snippets. Collect a list of people that would help you in a book launch for a free .pdf of your draft book. Learn methods of connection: FB, Linkedin, Twitter. Connect deeply and only you can. There is only one caveat here. Be consistent at it. Coaching is available to help you if you need it. I can help. Please don't be afraid to ask. There are no dumb questions. Nothing opens up opportunity more than the willingness to ask.

Those are the four steps forward. You are not writing in a vacuum when you are communicating with others. Learning methods of advertising is also key.

Take care for now. Keep writing and growing.
